THE PROPHETIC SUNNAH’S CARE FOR MUSLIM WOMEN
Abstract
The study is called The Care of the Prophetic Sunnah to Muslim Women and it discusses the entire Prophetic approach to the respect of women and the maintenance of human and social integrity. The main issue of the research is to show how females passed the phase of marginalization and acquired the status of Islamic legal empowerment by the means of the Sunnah texts, and their realistic application. The analysis of this study indicates that the Prophetic Sunnah presented a distinct paradigm of women care that is holistic. This nurturance commences in childhood, and insists on the respect and chaste nurturing of females; goes on to the marital phase which the Sunnah specifies as the ultimate purpose of worship and chaste friendship; and finally to motherhood which the Sunnah identifies as the most ultimate purpose of worship and chaste companionship. In addition, the paper discusses the particular rights assured to women by the Sunnah, be it civil rights, like the independent legal liability of finances, social rights, such as the right to education and the right to marry a partner of their own choice, or devotional rights, in which all women are equal to men in spiritual gain and religious duty. The importance of such research is in the fact that the Prophetic care towards women is not a collection of slogans, but the integrated legal and ethical system. Its goal is to balance the social conditions and grant the dignity of women in their many roles to make the Prophetic guidance the ultimate source of solving the problem of the present-day women.
