Abstract
This research paper will examine the philosophical and aesthetic aspects of the short story The Postmaster by Bengali author and poet Rabindranath Tagore by examining the theme of the story unreciprocated bonds as a key to the human experience in the story. This work shows the great perspective of Tagore on human life, when isolation, desire, silent suffering, as the effect of separation between the subject and the world around him, are revealed in the context of natural beauty and poetic calm, which hides an inner tragedy.
