Abstract

The study seeks to explain the origins of Western religious hate, to look at how much Macron associates and encourages such speech, to seek the effects of such kind of speech, and to make findings and recommendations, which will help in addressing the discriminative speech. The approach taken is descriptive and then analytical. The research results suggest that the political speech of Macron is provocative to religious hate and violence, and the inability to criminalize the hate speech about religion in a certain European state (that is France) in the name of freedom of speech makes the global efforts to combat the increasing phenomenon of religious hate speech rather dubious. Furthermore, the European racist and supremacist mentality and the way to perceive other people through the prism of the white racial superiority offers good soil to the supporters of racism and propagation of religious hate speech. Also, the position of Islamic governments and other Islamic related institutions in responding to acts of hate speech targeting the religion characterizes as weak and hesitant, has helped in the escalating numbers of recruiting people to join groups that promote violence throughout the world.
