ISLAMIC RELIGION RIGHTS OF CHILDREN BORN TO YAZIDI WOMEN CAPTURED BY THE ISLAMIC STATE OF IRAQ AND SYRIA (ISIS) IN CAMPS

Abstract

God Almighty told us that children are the adornment of worldly life, and children are included in divine care by highlighting their rights over their parents and the state. The Iraqi society faced a great shock and a great tragedy when ISIS decided to shed their blood and enslave them, when they attacked Sinjar district and committed massacres against the Yazidis, killing men and taking children and women as captives. The organization sold Yazidi women in slavery markets and distributed them randomly to their fighters who raped them or forcibly married them. The children born from this rape are, in the view of the Yazidi society and the Iraqi state, illegitimate children who are not recognized and denied, and they end up in camps. Therefore, we are working to address the problems of these children who live in the camps without a mother or father from a legal and religious perspective in proving their lineage, their right to support and a decent life, and receiving education and upbringing, also they are no different from their peers among children in all areas and rights, they shouldn't be punished for a crime they did not commit but provide them with adequate protection. The state must save this category of children from the prisons of the camps and prevent them from being exploited by terrorist organizations.
