Abstract

Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis), Hadith (Prophetic Traditions) and Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudance) are main and inter-related branches of Islamic Sciences. This article shows how they are inter-related to each other and to which extent it is important for a scholar who wants to be expert in Islamic Sciences to learn these sciences. By looking at the creation and development process of these sciences it is clearly evident that  these three branches are so closely inter-related to one another that if some scholar wants to specialise in any of these three he can not do it without mastering other two. We have adopted a simple methodology for the preparation of this article. We first of all have defined each of the above three branches literally and terminologically. Then showed the historical back ground of each. Then proved the co-relationship of these three branches of Islamic sciences and finally provided the list of reference books we have benefitted from for the preparation of this article.
