Abstract
Allamah Iqbal (1873-1938) was one of the great Indian poets of Urdu and Persian who excelled in their field. They created what the others could not and on this very distinction they were celebrated by the readers and the writers as well. Iqbal was celebrated by the readers of India, Pakistan, and Europe and even by the Arab world.
The fame Iqbal gained among the Arab readers and thinkers its credit goes to the great Indian scholar of his time Allamah Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi who translated first his verses from Urdu and Persian into Arabic in his famous book ‘Rawai Iqbal’. This is the book which raised name and fame of Iqbal high to the sky. Several thesises were written on him.
Allamah Iqbal used his poetry for the best cause of Islam. He propagated Islam and Islamic teachings among his readers. His all poetic creations are full of this message. It is clear from the study of his verses that he was not of the poets who vasted their time and intellect for nothing. He utilized his intellect and ability for the best cause-preaching Islam and Islamic teachings among its readers. The following article will shed light on this central theme.
