Abstract

The novel “Shiqqatul Hurriyah” (Apartment of Freedom) is one of the most wonderful novels written not only in the Saudi Arabic literature but also in complete Arabic literature. It deals with important issues and carries in its fold conflicting ideas and divergent views on politics, religion and society and includes many ideas, issues, concerns and opinions on Arab society that are completely different from the other. All of them affect the reader's mind greatly. Because of importance and prestigious position of this novel, it was translated into different world living languages. The Saudi writer, novelist, poet, Dr. Ghazi Abdul Rahman Al-Qusaibi, who left behind a brilliant and rich literary legacy, wrote in various literary arts, and lit up the name of Saudi literature throughout the world. He was a talented poet as well as a great novelist, and his novels are among the best written in Saudi literature. He has poetry collections and many articles on political thought.
