Abstract

The Quran is the central sacred reality of Islam. The Quran is the source of true progress and development. The Quran addresses all human kind in every age in accordance with degree of their understanding and development; The Risale-i-Nur explains that face of the Quran which looks to this age. The Risale-i-Nur, as contemporary commentary on the Quran’s message by Badiuzzamna Said Nursi offers a numerous solutions to many problems facing by human kind in modern day. Its method is based on acquiring knowledge and harnessing it in the best of ways; that is as a means of attaining to belief by investigation. The Risale-i-Nur explains that face of the Quran which looks to this age. The Risale-i-Nur, being a Quranic commentary which expounds all its verses giving the immediate reasons for their revelation and the apparent meanings of the word and sentences. This provided a strong argument for the relevance of Islam in the cotemporary world. Nursi points outs the contrast between the social values proposed by the modern civilization and the vision of society presented by the Quran. He envisioned that in contradiction to other religion, only Islam has capacity to progress. The aim of this paper is to discuss the Nursi approach who calls to the real intellectual revolution that is based on the principles of the Holy Quran.
