Abstract

It is universally accepted that metaphor (Majaz) in the rhetoric unanimously creates decisive change in text. So we can say that metaphor in literary text performs a vital and effective role to enrich the literary language. There is no doubt that initially words of language were used to convey the meanings, feelings and figures directly about the facts and realities, but change was occurred and words were mould accordingly to the human needs and metaphorical forms progressed rapidly to achieve the goals like wideness, affirmation and likening etc. So the change is in direct relation with the metaphor. If there is no need of above mentioned goals and characteristics, then it is related with the reality. Due to that, linguistic experts understood the importance of metaphor very well, which gives literary text a technical aspect and creates decisive partition between “literary text” and “general script”.So, in this article, we wanted to discuss evolutionary change in meaning of linguistic word as well as to understand that “Majaz” is more communicated then that of reality (Haqeeqat)” and at the end of the article, we presented some evidences of Metaphorical forms in Surah Yousuf.
