Abstract

India produced several great scholars of Arabic and Islamic studies e.i. Abu al-Ata al-Sindi, Masud al-Lahauri, Amir Khusau, Abul Fazl Faizi, Abdu Haq al-Dehlawi, Shah Waliullah al-Dehlawi, Abdul Qadir al-Jaunpuri, Fazl-e-Haq al-Khairabadi, Mufti Sadruddin Azurdah, Ghulam Ali Azad al-Bilgrami, Shah Qasim al-Nanautawi and Maulana Mohd. Faruq Chirayyakoti. Among such great scholars was Imam Abd-ul-Hamid al-Farahi who not only mastered over Arabic and Islamic Studies but also over English, Persian and Urdu languages.Imam Farahi wrote several books such as ‘Mufradat-ul-Qur’an’, ‘Asalib-ul-Qur’an’, ‘al-Takmil fi Usul al-Tawil’, ‘Nizam-ul-Qur’an’, ‘Hujaj-ul-Qur’an’, ‘al-Rai al-Sahih fi man huwa al-Dhabih’ and ‘Im’an fi Aqsam al-Qur’an’. Among these valuable works is ‘Jamhat-ul-Balaghah’. This book is one of his unprecedented works in the world. In this work he differed from those who examine the literary beauty of the Qur’an through Greek principles. He examined the Qur’anic literary beauty in the light the classical Arabic literature in which the Qur’an was revealed. It is a unique work. The detailed study may be seen in the coming pages.
