Abstract

This valuable manuscript, reserved in rear book section of National Library of Government of India, Kolkata is an important source about Indian history, civilization and culture. The writer “ As-Sayyad Abu Baker bin Mohsin Ba’abud Al-Alvi is a great Arabic scholar who came from Yemen and settled in Surat, Gujrat, wrote a book, in 1128 A.H, namely  “ Al-Muqama Al-Hindiyya. “ "المقامة الهندية on the pattern of Maqama ( story), after visiting India and deeply  Studying its civilization, culture and social system. The manuscript contains on fifty one Stories and each and every story’s name is on the cities of Indian Sub-content and its region.
